The evening before the festival starts

On the night form the 2nd of March 2012 to the 3rd of March 2012 all the holy Sak Yant monks come together and make the magic Tattoos for thousands of people.
Normally, the monks finish their work at 5 in evening and they go early, at about 7 to bed. But not in this night...

	The illuminated statue of Luang Phor Pern, the former master of Wat Bang Phra.
	In an extra temple, the dead body of the always smiling Luang Phor Pern is exhibited, so that all people can come to him and pray.
	Many people will sleep in the temple of Wat Bang Phra. Some get a room from the monks, other are sleeping in the streets. There is a night festival with food and movie.
	In the night are many stands with delicious Thai food, where the people eat snacks like Saté, fruits or soups.
	Beside food and drinks there is traditionally also a movie night, where horror films were shows. The sound of the movie is so loud, that you even can hear it in one kilometer distance.
	Also this monk, with beautiful Sak Yant on his body and on his head is watching the loud horror movie.
	Many families come to the Wai Kru festival and they bring their children with them. In the Wat Bang Phra temple is for the Tattoo festival a nice playground for the children.
	Here is a statue of the founder of the magic Sak Yant tattoos: Ruesi Ruesi likes to smoke cigarettes, I gave him one to smoke.
	Before you can receive a holy sacred Sak Yant tattoo by a monk, you must give him some gifts. Normally you give money, flowers, incense sticks and cigarettes.
	Here a monk gives a traditional Sak Yant tattoo in a leg. A lot of blood comes out of the wound. Getting a traditional tattoo hurts a little bit.
	I also received my Hanuman Sak Yant, which will protect me against evil.
	The monks are tattooing all day and all night, with only a very few breakes, because so many people are waiting to get their own Sak Yant.
	This Sak Yant monk makes a little break, after hours and hours of tattooing.
	Directly in front of the temple, a baby is sleeping on the street. All hotels in the surrounding of 10 kilometers are already booked out and for many Thai people it is too expensive to go to a hotel, so they sleep in the streets.
